CB5 Brooklyn Parks Updates

March 25, 2020

The New York City Department of Parks is urging families not to gather in the local parks and playgrounds to ensure the best precautions are being taken to avoid the passing of the coronavirus to friends and family members. Please note that the message from the Brooklyn Parks Department is echoing the NYC Parks department message:

The Brooklyn Parks Department does not have the capacity to continuously and consistently sanitize playground equipment so please be mindful about how parks spaces are utilized with your children and other family members. Currently the comfort stations (bathrooms) are being cleaned according to schedule. Additionally, gardens in CB5 are not open to organized activities or programming – social distancing is being emphasized in all green spaces.

In that regard, all scheduled scoping meetings for CB5 park’s capital projects have been cancelled. Below is the link from the NYC Department of Parks on service changes in parks throughout the city.

Please stay safe, and be disciplined.
