Greetings Community and Happy Kwanzaa!
On behalf of Brooklyn Community Board 5, I want to thank you all for your strengthened support and connection to our Membership and District Office, throughout 2021.
Today marks an extremely significant day within Kwanzaa because today’s principle is Nia or Purpose represents “to make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community to restore our people to their traditional greatness”.
We have conquered another year filled with many challenges and new opportunities to work collectively towards improving this great district and the people who reside here. Community-based organizations have remained committed to service and quality programming, local agencies and institutions weathered through setbacks and changes in administration and budgets, elected officials and activists continued to advocate and fight for the community, and most importantly, the great people of the district shared experiences and connected with CB5 in an even greater way.
We are so excited and ready to embrace 2022 with an even greater commitment and renewed sense of Purpose! We will be posting our annual highlights for 2021 and goals for 2022 and we encourage you to share your thoughts and suggestions with our District Office to ensure that we are moving as One Community and One Voice!
Thank you all and we look forward to building an even greater Board in the new year.
Stay Safe, Be Responsible, and SPREAD LOVE / NOT COVID!
HAPPY NEW YEAR CB5!
